Recently, the international higher education research institution QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) released the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject.Wuhan University’s Economics & Econometrics discipline has been ranked 83rd globally, marking a significant milestone.
The discipline has shownsteady progressin recent QS rankings: entering the top 200 in 2022, rising to147th in 2023, and advancing to128th in 2024. This year, it surged45 placesto break into thetop 100, securing the83rd position.
The 2025 rankings evaluated over1,700 universitiesacross 100 countries and regions in55 subject areas. QS employs five key metrics:academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, H-index, and international research network. The weight of each indicator varies by discipline to reflect distinct academic characteristics.
